Drop the gym and lose ten pounds in a month [Part 1]

It’s already March. Not sure about you, but I’m ready to admit that my new year resolution of spending more time in the gym hasn’t quite worked out… it’s just not going to happen. Not sure if it’s just that my will power is lacking - or the simple fact that a gym membership can get costly very fast!

Running 3 times a week! [Part 2]

Well, so far I’m not doing too bad! I’m down a kilo, without even adjusting my diet. So what have I been doing…?
A friend of mine told me that you don’t have to be a fast runner to loose weight. All you need to do is to keep yourself in motion at a comfortable speed, and to it frequently enough - about 3 times a week. So, since my first post, I’ve been out for a run four times!
Since I’m just starting out, I’m also trying to make this as easy as possible for myself.. this means…uhm, not running for too long (25 minutes is more than enough) and not trying to loose my breath during this time!
It is so easy to try to do too much when you first start. I’ve been there before and I find it counter productive - too much stress will make you hate the time you spend exercising and it’s so much harder to motivate yourself to get out again. So my advice is to take the first few runs very very slowly - don’t stress - enjoy it!
When my run is over, I don’t feel too exhausted, just slightly sweaty. It’s getting easier every time I’m out so this week I’ll start running a little bit longer…
Here’s my run this weekend..

Oh no! It’s all gone wrong

So I embarked on this challenge, full of positive energy and things were looking great!
But then what happened?
It’s been silent from me for a while and I bet you’re dying to know… All I can say is that unfortunately there was a lot of food going on in April, topped with late evenings and no time for running or any type of health enhancing activities… a combo that lead to a massive fail on my part!
I believe in second chances, though. So here we go again! I was snooping about in a second hand store last week and suddenly stumbled across this:

A sign to get back in the game? I can totally see myself using that thigh master when watching movies at home….
It won’t help me loose weight without other calorie burning exercises though, but it might help me stay on track and remind me to get off the sofa. I’ve already tried the wheel - it’s not that easy! Not sure if that was a great buy (even at £1) - lots of reviews online says it will do nothing for you. I feel it in my arms, though…
Total spent: £3.50
Full price of exercise wheel: £5
Full price of thigh master: £12Total saved: £13.5
