What 3 long pieces of jersey fabric can do..

Quick post: We love it when people try our tutorials - when you’ll see Gretchen’s version of BirdyMoola’s neck piece you’ll see why!
Gretchen writes: “I came across a tutorial for this necklace this morning and thought I just had to give it a try. It came out well. I think I will try making one thinner and longer. I know some people LOVE the chunky jewelry thing. I never jumped in on that. Anyways, all you do is cut 3 long peices of jersey fabric and braid them together! Give it a go!”
Let us know if you’ve made one too!

Thrifty frames & Curious walls

Hanging artwork on the wall without a frame is evil. It’s like arranging roses in a vase without water.
This is something I’ve just recently come to understand. For the longest time, I’ve treated my art work (and walls!) as most students do - a poster here, a photo there…hmmm… some more there… some bits of tape, perhaps some glue and voila! Nice. Now let’s hit the pub.

A fraction of my unframed photography, previously taped to the wall...
I love photography and having amassed a large collection of photos through the past few years, I’m always on the look out for frames. Empty frames. Frames with pictures, paintings. Frames of all sizes and shapes. Old frames, new frames. Great frames can be as interesting and decorative as the artwork itself! Read full post

Eyebrow threading for £6

A little while back, SassyMoola mentioned a few new challenges we’re working on - Adah is looking for cheap eyebrow threading near Canary Wharf.
While Sassy is on the case, I wanted to share a little gem that I stumbled across in the Wimbledon area. It’s called Herbal World - and although you wouldn’t think so when strolling by this rather unassuming store on the street, they also offer Divine Beauty services…

Herbal World's store front
I don’t know what exactly caught my eye as I was passing, but for some reason I got curious. My gut feeling was telling me that something good was about to be discovered here. And I wasn’t disappointed! Read full post

Thanks Olly! No - I don't listen to music, because I'm so lucky as to have the commons right as my running field - love the sound of the birds and the wind in the leaves. But if I was running on the street, I might - music definitely is motivating!
Oh my, you're inspiring me! Those cheese bits could turn into a very romantic eve served on an elegant tray... :)
Oh, please don't use hair dye! It can cause serious damage to your eyes if something goes wrong... I used to dye my lashes every two months years back - but when I moved to the US, they made it illegal in my state so the therapist weren't allowed to offer the service.... Since then, I haven't bothered... and to my surprise, I'm all fine without it! But your post makes me remember the mascara free days very fondly, BirdyMoola...
....really love their blog! (It's thisyounghouse, by the way:) Thanks so much for the tip, Bells!
You're right! But that means I'll actually have to, uhm, make dinner as well... Sandwich box cooler and pita bread is a great tip - thank you, Jenbug!
Hello & Welcome, SassyMoola! Can't wait to see your first challenge:)
You're right! Those numbers are awful, aren't they. Equals trip to Cuba, plenty of shoes, etc etc... I've made a left over salad today for lunch... post coming soon!
Looks so tasty, really want to go! But I've got 4.15 left of my lunch challenge budget this week.... can't loose my challenge with only £0.05, can I? :)
That's ace:) Why did I not think of that. I bet it would work really well - AND the sandwich would be perfectly flat... !
Thank you, Elisa and Top Bird:)
That's amazing. Must make my own. Or better yet... can I borrow yours...? x
Oh wow - what a find!! Mission impossible accomplished:)
I so agree - the cost of latte is scary stuff. Would you believe this.... I had your Mukka Express two years back! Cleaning it was a bit of a hassle... sigh:)
Thank you:) I am sure you find plenty of options - a little cleaning and polish can do wonders to the poor abandoned frames!
of course you can link to it! Thanks for all the great comments!
